Brian Dixon is the Vice Provost of Enrollment Management and provides leadership for the Offices of Scholarship and Financial Aid, Registrar, and Texas One Stop. Brian joined UT in 2021, bringing more than 20 years of higher education experience in financial aid, enrollment, and campus operations. His work has focused on enhancing the alignment of aid and student success efforts, supporting enrollment and student outcomes through collaboration with campus partners and data-informed decision-making.
Before joining UT Austin, Brian served six years as Assistant Vice President of Student Financial Services at Washington State University, where he managed over $400 million in operational and student aid budgets and was instrumental in streamlining business processes and developing data-driven interventions and student-centered experiences to improve racial, gender and socioeconomic equity.
Brian has served in numerous professional capacities: recognized as a NASFAA Most Valuable Professional, co-Principal Investigator for a $2 million Assets for Independence (AFI) Workforce Federal Grant to support financial literacy through the creation of matched savings accounts, as a member of the Congressional Military Academies Nominations Committee, as the president of the Washington Financial Aid Association, as an executive committee member of the WASFAA, as a technical advisory member of the Washington Adult Reengagement Working Group, as adjunct faculty for Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, as a peer accreditor for the NWCCU. In addition, he was a presenter at the APLU Student Success Summit for HBCUs, CollegeBoard‘s Enrollment Leadership Academy, and the 2022 NASFAA Leadership and Legislative Conference. He also served as a veterans’ affairs intern for former US Senator Herb Kohl and co-authored a book chapter in “Leading the Crimson and Grey” on WSU’s late President Elson S. Floyd. Additionally, he has consulted on projects with many colleges and universities.
