Jeanette Herman, assistant vice provost and campus director of Interdisciplinary Studies, received the President’s Outstanding Supervisor Award. This honor recognizes supervisors who model exceptional leadership, mentorship, and dedication to their teams.

“Jeanette eminently deserves this recognition,” said Richard J. Reddick, senior vice provost and dean. “She is an incredible advocate for her team, and her leadership and steadiness during a tumultuous time at the University are mission-critical. I know how inspirational and affirming working with Jeanette can be, and I’m grateful that she was nominated and recognized with this award.”

Malik Crowder, director of the Heman Sweatt Center, received the President’s Outstanding Staff Award, which honors staff members who have shown extraordinary commitment, initiative, and service to the University community. Through his work at the Sweatt Center, Malik empowers students and creates a lasting impact through mentorship, advocacy, and support.

“Malik embodies the kind of compassionate leadership that transforms lives,” said Dean Reddick. “He works tirelessly to build a community of belonging, and his example strengthens our entire institution. I can’t think of a more deserving recipient of this award.”

Both awards are part of the annual President’s Staff Awards, which recognize staff across UT Austin who exemplify excellence in their roles and help drive the University’s mission forward. The 2025 awards celebrated 31 Outstanding Staff recipients and 6 Outstanding Supervisors selected from a highly competitive pool of nominees.

Please join us in congratulating Jeanette and Malik on this well-earned recognition. Their dedication, leadership, and care for the University community embody Undergraduate College's spirit and the Forty Acres's mission.
