Dr. Miguel Wasielewski is the Vice Provost of Admissions. He began his career at UT Austin as a work-study student in 1993 and spent over 20 years in the UT Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid before joining the UT Office of Admissions in 2015. Since 2018, he has led the University’s admissions team focusing on new and innovative solutions to support the enrollment of an exceptionally talented, multi-dimensional student body. He has been instrumental in developing the recruitment strategy and holistic review process that has led to record enrollment in students while assisting the colleges and schools across campus to meet their individual enrollment needs. 
 
Miguel is a first-generation college student from the Rio Grande Valley who has earned three degrees from UT Austin and has spent his career serving the university. He is passionate about making college accessible for all students and feels that the work he has done and is doing will encourage students to attain a college degree and redefine what will be possible for their lives.
