Graduate Assistant
Mandy Vachon is pursuing her M.Ed. in the Higher Education Leadership and Policy program. She began her undergraduate career at Austin Community College in 2005 and earned her Bachelor of Science in Corporate Communication from UT's Moody College in May 2021. During her undergraduate studies, Mandy developed a passion for higher education through her role as a mentor for Transfer Interest Groups.
Post-graduation, Mandy worked as an Academic Advisor for the College of Natural Sciences before transitioning to the First-Year Experience office. There, she focused on supporting transfer, nontraditional, and pregnant and parenting students. Notably, she initiated the Orange Blossom Graduation, a celebration honoring these graduating students, and helped coordinate the first campus-wide diaper drive for the UT Outpost. Her efforts also included successfully launching a satellite UT Outpost on the south side of campus, improving access to essential resources.
As she advances in her M.Ed. program, she looks forward to further developing her skills and making a continued impact in Texas’s evolving educational landscape.
