Director, Community Engagement
Stephanie L. Lang, whose family has lived in Austin and the surrounding area for multiple generations, is a published author and community curator who has worked in tandem with the engaged community and the University, as well as student partners throughout her 20 + year tenure at the University. Through programming, initiatives, and collaborative projects, Ms. Lang has worked to connect communities and address their priorities by leveraging the resources at the University while also harnessing the power of storytelling to explore concepts of home, place, and memory.
Ms. Lang also serves on several boards, has curated community-centered storytelling projects with undergraduate students, and advised municipal and community organizations, university faculty and staff, and students through their internship and capstone projects to assist them in best practices around research, connection, and collaboration while working with individual and community organization through her own experiences, relation building guidance and historical context.
