Academic Counseling and Coaching Coordinator

Zach directly oversees the Peer Academic Coaching (PAC) team within UT Austin’s Sanger Learning Center. Before joining Sanger, Zach worked at Coastal Carolina University as a professional academic coach and an adjunct professor. 

Zach earned his Ph.D. in Education Sciences from Coastal Carolina University, an M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from Vanderbilt University, and a B.S. in Sport Management, with a double major in English from Florida State University. 

As an academic, Zach’s research interests include the influence of students’ smartphone usage, the outcomes of academic interventions, and financial wellness education. Zach has published in NASPA’s Journal for Student Affairs Research and Practice, the Journal of Student-Athlete Educational Development and Success and presented at CRSDE’s National Symposium on Student Retention. 

Zach loves playing music, swimming, and spending time with his wife, Alli and their corgi, Cogsworth. Zach is originally from Vero Beach, Florida, a small beachside town.
