Request a Workshop
Want to bring a Sanger Learning Center workshop to your class, program, or student group? We’d love to partner with you! Workshops can be requested by faculty, staff, and student organizations and are available on a variety of topics—from study tips to time management and more.
To help us prepare, please submit your request at least two weeks in advance. Once we confirm presenter availability, you’ll receive a confirmation email with details. Staff facilitators are available upon request.

How do I attend a workshop?
Browse the schedule on MySLC and register online. Most sessions are 45–50 minutes, offered in person or online, and led by trained student educators. All workshops are completely free of charge for UT students.
How do I request a workshop for my class or student organization?
Submit the Request a Workshop form at least two weeks in advance so our team has time to prepare and assign a presenter.
Who can request a workshop?
UT Austin faculty, staff, and student groups/organizations can request workshops for their courses, programs, or meetings.
Who facilitates the workshops?
Sessions are led by trained student educators from the Sanger Learning Center; staff facilitators are available by request when appropriate.
Can you tailor a workshop to my class or group?
Yes—within reason. Tell us about your course context, assignment timelines, or learning goals in the request form, and we’ll adjust accordingly. Please note that customized requests require additional time to prepare.
I signed up for an online workshop. How do I get the Zoom link?
Please be on the lookout for an email to your student account from SLC Outreach—it will include the link and any details you need to join the online workshop. If you don’t see it within 24 hours of the workshop time), check your spam folder or reach out to us at slc.outreach@austin.utexas.edu
Can I host a workshop online?
Yes. We facilitate via Zoom (preferred) and Microsoft Teams. Please include your preferred platform and access details in the request form.
What happens after I submit a request?
We’ll review availability and email a confirmation. If the requested date/time is unavailable, we’ll follow up with alternatives. Once a presenter is assigned, they will reach out directly.
Can I attend more than once?
Absolutely! While the content might be the same, we often capture information we missed the first time.
How can I become a workshop presenter?
The Sanger Learning Center hires student educators every semester. We encourage you to check our Job Opportunities section periodically for any upcoming hiring seasons. Jobs are usually posted around October and March.
I am a faculty member, can I schedule a workshop for my class?
Yes! If you need to be absent from your class or would like us to fill class time, the Don't Cancel Class initiative allows faculty members to request workshops during their class time.
