Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Honors Program
  • Description: Provides a rigorous, challenging, and faster-pace curriculum and environment to a cohort of ECE undergraduate students who have the background, ability and the desire and motivation to pursue a more demanding track.

Texas Honors Electrical and Computer Engineering and Business (ECB)
  • Description: Texas ECB offers an unparalleled honors education in electrical and computer engineering and Canfield Business Honors. Students studying in the program earn two bachelor degrees at the honors level in four years.

Robotics Honors (Coming Soon)

Plan II Honors Program
  • Description: Plan II is a challenging interdisciplinary curriculum leading to the Bachelor of Arts degree. Plan II differs from most honors programs in that its core curriculum is a major.

Humanities Honors Program
  • Description: The Humanities Honors major is an individualized, interdisciplinary course of study which offers highly motivated students the opportunity to design an independent course of study built around intellectual interests.

Junior Fellows Program
  • Description: A small group of up to thirty-five talented and energetic juniors and seniors selected on the basis of their intellectual ability, the quality and promise of their proposed project, and their enthusiasm for discussion.

Departmental Honors Programs

Most departments in the College of Liberal Arts offer honors programs to their majors. The admission application process is determined by the individual departments. Admission to the Liberal Arts Freshman Honors Program is not a prerequisite for Departmental Honors. For more information, review the Thesis Manual and contact the departmental honors advisor for your major.

  • Description: A four-year honors degree program for highly motivated and talented students with a demonstrated interest in scientific research.

  • Description: Texas CSB is a rigorous academic joint honors program for students who excel in computer science and have a passion for business. This program offers students the ability to earn two bachelors degrees in four years in Computer Science Honors and Canfield Business Honors.

Departmental Honors Programs

The College of Natural Sciences has a number of Major-Specific Honors Programs worth learning about: Turing Scholars is for computer science majors, Honors in Advanced Nutritional Sciences is for nutrition majors and Honors in Advanced Human Development and Family Sciences (HDFS) is for HDFS majors. In addition, most departments offer departmental honors opportunities to their students.

  • Description: While approval is pending for the proposed major in Civics Honors, students may apply to the School of Civic Leadership as undeclared majors. We anticipate that the Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Civics Honors will have final approval prior to the 2025-2026 academic year.
