Transfer Orientation and Camp Texas

Once you have been admitted to UT Austin, the next step is to attend a transfer student orientation session. Although you are coming to campus with collegiate experience, many transfer students report having difficulty finding all the right resources as new Longhorns. Orientation is a great way for you to learn about the UT Austin-specifc resources, meet with your academic advisor, connect with new and returning students, and most importantly, register for your classes!

You can prepare for orientation by reviewing the pre-orientation checklist. After you attend orientation, review the post-orientation checklist to take care of final action items before the semester starts.

In addition to orientation, every August, Texas Exes hosts Camp Texas. Camp Texas is a three-day extended orientation open to all students who are new to UT Austin. It is a great opportunity to learn more about Longhorn traditions, make new friends, and get some one-on-one time with esteemed faculty.

Lastly, before starting your first semester at UT Austin, take some time to review the various campus services that are here to help you make the most of your college experience.
