Child Care

As a student with one or more dependents, you may need child care during your time at The University of Texas at Austin. Explore your options for on- and off-campus child care and subsidized child care assistance.

On Campus

Enroll your dependent in on-campus child care services through the UT Child Development Center, which operates three locations. The waitlist times range from one to three years, depending on the age of your child. The monthly tuition is based on household income.

Off Campus

Search for licensed child care providers on the Texas Department of Protective and Family Services database. You can narrow the search by zip code, ages served, and programs provided. The UT CDC program director can also help you locate child care in other area programs.

Child Care Assistance

Your family may be eligible to receive financial assistance to cover some or all costs for child care while you attend school. The City of Austin and Travis County, as well as other cities and counties in Texas, provide subsidized child care for eligible families through Workforce Solutions Child Care Services.
