Current Students

The Bridging Disciplines Programs (BDPs) are here to help you make the most of your undergraduate experience at The University of Texas at Austin, and we want to make sure you have the resources you need to be successful in your BDP. Here are some of the sections of the BDP web site that will help you be aware of the resources, policies, and community events available to you as a current BDP student:

Advising

Find information about how to make an advising appointment. Remember that even if you don’t plan to take a BDP course or Connecting Experience in a given semester, it’s still a good idea to check in with your advisor to make sure you’re on track for completing your BDP.

Curriculum Sheets

Access the current curriculum sheet for your program. Consult your advisor with any questions about requirements and/or course offerings. Do you need to petition a course to count for your strand? Complete the online Petition Form by the posted deadline.

Connecting Experiences

Find information about Connecting Experience timelines, forms, and policies. Remember to let your BDP advisor know about any internship, research, or study abroad experiences you’re planning—often these will be able to count as Connecting Experiences. Read these Connecting Experience spotlights to learn more about what projects students have done.

Career Planning

Your BDP experience can help you clarify your career goals and prepare for your next step after college. It is important to reflect on what you’ve learned from these experiences, and to become comfortable articulating the knowledge you have cultivated and skills you have developed. Identify resources to help you reflect on what you are learning as a BDP student and to share this with external audiences.

Certificate Completion

During the semester that you are planning to graduate, you will need to submit an Integration Essay and a Certification Request Form. The deadline will be in accordance with the university’s deadline for undergraduate students to apply for graduation. Learn more about certificate completion.
