Core Curriculum Advisory Committee (CCAC)

The Core Curriculum Advisory Committee oversees the Core Curriculum, including the review and development of Core Course proposals, assessment of the Core as required for accreditation purposes, and proposals to modify the program.

The role of the CCAC is to

  • Improve the quality of the Core Curriculum
  • Serve as liaison to faculty and departments that teach Core Courses
  • Work with faculty members on editing Core Course proposals including syllabi development and revision
  • Make recommendations to UCAC on new Core Course proposals as appropriate
  • Provide guidance and make recommendations for assessment of core component areas
  • Advise the CCAC chair, UC dean, and Core Curriculum director and program manager on new ideas, initiatives, and changes
  • Work with Center for Teaching and Learning to support faculty teaching Core Courses
  • Make recommendations on course restrictions, special exceptions, and similar matters
