How Information Literacy Was Incorporated
In Professors Jay Banner and Dave Allen’s UGS 303 “Sustaining a Planet”, students worked in groups to evaluate selected websites and posted their evaluations to a discussion board in Blackboard. This exercise was managed by TAs within discussion sections. Librarians commented on the evaluations. Students also followed a current science topic in the news. As part of this assignment, they found a peer-reviewed journal article on the same topic as their news thread and reflected upon how it impacted their understanding of the news thread.
