How Information Literacy Was Incorporated
Professor Lee Walker’s seminar course “Community and Place” required students to identify an issue in the community related to one of the six themes of the course (social justice, place, transit, entrepreneurship, education, and healthcare) and propose a solution. The solution proposal was in the form of a grant proposal executive summary which they then presented to the class and to community stakeholders. To identify the issue and solution, and write the executive summary, students had to find and evaluate information in the libraries and on the web.
