If you have previously taught a Signature Course, you will need to submit a new proposal so your dean and the School of Undergraduate Studies will know you would like to teach again, and can give you approval. If you have made a proposal previously you may re-use your answers in subsequent years’ proposals.
To start a proposal that already has your past information pre-loaded into the form, go to the online proposal system. There will be three tabs reading, “My Proposed Courses,” “My Approved Courses” and “My Draft Proposals.” Click on “My Approved Courses.” Find the course you would like to propose and in the far right column, under “Actions” select the option “use for new.” This will pre-load your new proposal form with the information from that course.
Once you’ve gotten to this point, update the semester in which you prefer to teach, update your personal information, answer any questions that are blank, and edit questions that need updating. If your proposal questions section has either an “x” or “returning faculty,” you’ll have to fill out the questions. This will only have to be done once, as all following years your answers will be preloaded.
If you have questions about the process, please call the Signature Course office at 512-471-4421.
