Schwarzman Scholarship

The Schwarzman Scholarship is an all-expenses-paid scholarship to the one-year master’s program at Tsinghua University in Beijing.

The Schwarzman Scholarship aims to support the next generation of global leaders in a wide variety of fields. Prior knowledge of Chinese is not required. Students live and study together on the campus of Schwarzman College, a newly built, state-of-the-art facility where all classes are taught in English. Students will pursue degrees in one of three disciplines:

  • Public Policy
  • Economics and Business
  • International Studies

Conditions of Eligibility

  • Must be on track to successfully complete all degree requirements before August 1 of their Schwarzman Scholars enrollment year
  • You are at least 18 and not yet 29 years of age
  • You have English language proficiency

While there is no minimum GPA for the Schwarzman Scholarship, the median GPA of successful applicants has been 3.8, with only a few scholarship winners under 3.7.

Application Deadline

Applicants with U.S. passports may apply between April and September. The final deadline is usually late September. Applicants with passports from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macao will apply from January to May 31.
